Registered Social Service Worker
OCT Certified Teacher

Growing up with a brother with ASD I have gained an understanding of how invaluable life skills are for creating independence. I spent a lot of time thinking about how I can help him be more independent within our home.

I like to think the path of my experiences helps me gain different insights and knowledge into assisting him. I went to school for Child and Youth Work and Social Service Work. I have been in the education system for 10+ years as an educational assistant for 10 years, before going back to teachers college. This experience has helped me identify gaps in learning and the skills to create meaningful programs.

Sometimes it is hard to pull back from doing everything for your children, after all, they are your child no matter how old they are. If you feel like independence is just out of reach or you may need some supports in the letting go process, I would love the opportunity to work with you and your family to support your children, where we can see them achieve in ways we know they can!

Nice to meet you!

My name is Jaclyn Halliday.

Let's get started

To provide the life skills that we know our clients can achieve.

We believe in an approach that helps build a child's independence while supporting their social and emotional well-being.

We work closely with families and other professionals to create a comprehensive plan that meets the unique needs of each child.

THE Mission

  • There is such value in working with a team. To better support you and your family our team includes a social service worker, educational assistants, speech therapists, behaviour analysts, and other professionals, all with a passion for helping children with unique needs.

We believe in ongoing professional development to ensure that our team stays up-to-date with the latest research and best practices.

  • Show empathy and understanding towards individuals. Recognize and respect their unique perspectives, experiences, and challenges.

  • Adopt a person-centered approach that focuses on the individual's needs, strengths, and goals. Tailor your support to meet their specific requirements.

Foster and respect the autonomy of your clients. Encourage their decision-making and self-determination as they work toward independence.

  • Be adaptable in your approach, as what works for one individual may not work for another. Flexibility is important in tailoring your strategies to each client's unique needs.

Individuals with ASD may have varying communication styles and may need more time to process information or make decisions. Patience is essential in building trust and facilitating growth.
